*Kamalanagar, June 02*:
CADC CEM & president of Chakma District Mizo National Front (CDMNF) Dg. Rasik Mohan Chakma on 27 May, 2019 wrote to the Minister of School Education, Government of Mizoram apprising him of the acute shortage of teachers in a number of schools particularly in Chakma inhabited areas under Sub-Divisional Education Officer (SDEO) of Lungsen in Lunglei district, Mizoram.
The CEM informed that there are 5 schools with no teacher at all, 26 schools with single teacher, 23 schools with just 2 teachers and 6 schools with three teachers. He remarked that shortage of teachers in such a huge number cannot be afforded as academic future of hundreds of innocent children will be in danger. He requested the Minister to give preference to eligible candidates from *Tlabung and surrounding areas* during the upcoming recruitment drive while making appointments of teachers for the said schools.
It may be recalled that shortly after being sworn in as the Chief Executive Member of CADC on January 21, 2019, Dg. Rasik Mohan Chakma, while addressing the gathering at Kamalanagar said that the first priority of his government shall be good and inclusive governance. *“Towards inclusive governance, signs of development shall find place in all spheres like education, social and economic,” he said. “This government has a responsibility towards the WORLD CHAKMA COMMUNITY* and shall make effort towards this direction.”
